France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Restaurants in Colmar, Alsace, France
Colmar has lots of good restaurants in its historic center, in the plazas and squares.

Most of Colmar's historic squares (places) have selections of restaurants with indoor dining rooms for inclement weather, and outdoor terrace tables with umbrellas for fine days.

Cathedral

Just head for the cathderal to find restaurants on all sides...and what a view! The honey-colored stone draws your eye all through your lunch, dinner, snack or drink.

Place des Dominicains

Restaurants next to the great Dominican church set out tables beneath the shady sycamore trees.

Place de l'École

Several restaurants are here in the midst of the medieval streets. Choose one with the sun where you want it (bright or shady).

Place de l'Ancienne Douane

Among the best locations for people-watching and taking the sun, the place de l'Ancienne Douane also has some of Colmar's most interesting half-timbered houses.

Musée Unterlinden

Just east of the museum are several restaurants with shaded tables overlooking the shady square and the historic museum.

Gare de Colmar SNCF

Besides the usual snack and sandwich shops in the train station, the Grand Hotel Bristol right across the street has a fine sidewalk café-restaurant with a view of the station.
