Paris-CDG Airport has four budget Ibis hotels in or near it. They offer substantially different hotel services and experiences at different prices. Here's how to choose.

The budget Ibis Hotels chain of the Accor Hotels group has three hotels in or near Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Two important notes: the hotels all have similar names, making it difficult to tell them apart; and the signs and shuttle buses at the airport use other, different nicknames for the hotels. It can be very confusing!

Ibis Hotel Paris-CDG Terminal at Roissypôle
This Ibis hotel is right in the airport's Roissypôle building complex above the Aérogare 1 station for RER B trains going into Paris. You stay here because of the location: you can reach the hotel from anywhere in the airport by walking and using the CDGVAL shuttle train, and you can easily board an RER B train to the center of Paris.

Guest rooms are very small, bathrooms tiny, with very, very small showers (no tubs), but clean and serviceable. The bar on the lobby level is okay, the adjoining restaurant (not operated by the hotel) mediocre and not cheap. An adjoining shop sells packaged sandwiches, salads, drinks and other travel food staples, as do snack and fast food stands at Aérogare 1. For a better though more expensive meal, walk two minutes to the nearby Hilton.

Ibis Hotel Roissy-Ville on avenue de la Raperie
This Ibis hotel at the northern end of Allée des Vergers in the village of Roissy-en-France, has larger guest rooms and bathrooms with tub-shower, windows that open for fresh air, platform beds with comfortable foam mattresses, a better restaurant and bar; reasonably-priced buffet continental breakfast; a two-computer business center for your use, and vending machines selling hot drinks (cheap), cold drinks (expensive), pocket dictionaries and other travel necessities. You reach the hotel by the red-and-white hotel shuttle bus. The center of pretty Roissy-en-France, with its restaurants, shops and a fine boulangerie-pattisserie, is only a few minutes' stroll away along a path of Japanese cherry trees.

The Ibis Roissy-Ville is a good choice for a Paris weekend.

Ibis Paris Nord 2
Located in the Paris Nord 2 hotel area, it's another Ibis. If you like Paris Nord 2, it'll do.

Ibis Hotel Parc des Expositions, Villepinte
This Ibis is the poor cousin of the others, set at the end of a dead-end road in the northeastern corner of the Parc des Expositions, a long walk (1.5km/1 mi) from the Parc des Expositions RER B train station. If you have a car to get here, you may save money as room prices are discounted when there's no exposition in progress. Right next to it is an even cheaper Formule 1 Hotel.
