There are small information offices at the major airports and train stations, and they will usually help you to make a same-day hotel reservation for a fee.

But the prime source of information is the Office du Tourisme et des Congrès de Paris. Take the Métro (Line 7 or 14) to the Pyramides station. Come up from the Métro via the rue des Pyramides sortie (exit), and the office is right around the corner (there's a sign for it near the Métro exit)(map).

You can telephone the office and get information, for a fee: Tel: 0892 68 3000, 0.34€/minute.

There's a small Paris Tourisme information booth near the Anvers Métro station (map), which many people use to get to Montmartre and the basilique du Sacre-Coeur. The modern glass-and-metal Mini-office has lots of maps and pamphlets, and also sells tickets for a variety of tours and attractions.

Student Information
The Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires is the umbrella organization for CROUS, the network of Centres Régionale des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires. The Paris office can help with general student information, particularly if you are a scholarship or fellowship student studying in Paris. Go in and find the Bureau d'Acceuil et d'Information. Someone will speak English, and give you printed info and a list of student restaurants.
