Jardins du Trocadéro, Paris, France | |
| The gardens in front of the Palais de Chaillot, opposite the Eiffel Tower, don't figure in most visitors' plans, which is a pity: they're here, they're nice, and convenient. | ||

The Jardins du Trocadéro enclose parts of the Palais de Chaillot, facing the Eiffel Tower on the opposite (Right Bank) of the Seine. From the Palais de Chaillot you can get wonderful views of the Eiffel Tower. This is a particularly popular viewing spot at night, when the tower is illuminated. Daytime views are also great. In a way, the Jardins du Trocadéro are a continuation of the vast, flat Champ-de-Mars, the former military parade ground that extends from the École Militaire to the Eiffel Tower. The Jardins include various small parks, as well as playgrounds for the kids. And there always seems to be plenty of activity on the esplanade leading down toward the Seine and across to the Eiffel Tower.
