France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Best Hotels in Orange, France
Orange has charming traditional hotels right in the center and near the train station, and comfortable modern hotels convenient to the autoroutes.

Orange has several charming, traditional hotels in the city center, an easy walk from the Roman Theater, two hotels right next to the train station, a modern chain hotel to the north of the center near the Triumphal Arch, and other chain hotels between the city center and the A7 autoroute highway.

Hotels in the Center

Lou Cigaloun is a 3-star, 24-room boutique hotel in a 17th-century building near the center of the city. Two secluded gardens, a breakfast room, four parking spaces within the walls, a variety of rooms large and small, and helpful staff are advantages. More...

Best Western Hotel Arène Külm, on the Place de Langes at the very heart of the city only a few minutes' walk from the Theater, has 3 stars, 37 rooms, two heated swimming pools, spa and fitness center, restaurant—the most central hotel in Orange. More...

The simple 2-star, 20-room L'herbier d'Orange is about as close to the Theater as you can get. Most rooms have private bathroom. More...

The 3-star, 59-room Kyriad Orange Centre is 600 meters (4/10th mile) north of the Theater and 300 meters (2/10th mile) south of the Arc de Triomphe, a comfortable, modern, mid-priced hotel. When demand for rooms is light, price reductions are in order. More...

The family-run 3-star, 28-room Logis Le Glacier is on the western edge of the historic center, still an easy walk to the Roman Theater. More...

Hotels Near the Train Station (Gare)

The more traditional 3-star, 18-room Citôtel de Provence (also called simply the Hôtel de Provence) and, across the street (Avenue Frédéric Mistral), the more modern 3-star, 31-room Hôtel Le Louvre, are right next to the Gare d'Orange, a 12- to 15-minute walk from the historic center (map).

Modern Hotels on the Outskirts

To the west of the center, toward the A7 autoroute, are representatives of the Campanile, Ibis, Hotel F1, Mercure, Première Classe and other budget-to-moderate modern chain hotels. All offer free Wifi, and most have private parking.

Ibis is represented by the modern 3-star, 72-room Ibis Orange Centre which, despite its name, is not in the center but 1.3 km (8/10 mile) due west of the Roman Theater on the way to the A7 interchange. More...

There's also the simple, cheaper 2-star, 70-room Ibis Budget Orange, 1.1 km (7/10 mile) west of the Roman Theater. More...

The 4-star, 97-room Mercure Orange Centre, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) west of the Roman Theater, very near the A7 autoroute, is a fine choice for comfort at appropriate prices, with an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. More...
