France Travel Planner by Tom Brosnahan & Jane Fisher   Restaurants in Biarritz, France
Seafood? Sure. But also Basque specialties.

Biarritz has many restaurants, from the fanciest fine dining places to tiny cafés. There's something for everyone.

Given its location on the Atlantic, many restaurants feature fresh seafood. Basque specialties, including dishes prepared with the Piment d'Espelette or Espelette pepper, a variety of chili pepper that grows in the region. You'll regularly see bunches of dried peppers hanging in markets or restaurants.

The area around the Place Ste-Eugénie has a lot of restaurants, and of course there are also many lining the sea. The surfing beach of Côte des Basques has quite a number of restaurants too.

Other areas with lots of restaurants include the center of town, near the Tourist Information Office, and the Casino area.
